Hello my name is Wiley Dawson and I’m from theBridgeAcademy Charter High School in Bridgeport Connecticut, and I have been participating in the SIFT program at Eastern Connecticut State University for four weeks. Let me tell you I have enjoyed every moment of it, the work is challenging, the discussions are intense and I have benefited from it. I have met a lot of great and intelligent young adults and teachers here who have helped me and were there for me when I needed them to be there. I wish that I could do this all over again, with no changes, just do it the way it. I want to thank everybody who was there for me like Dextreana, Dayquan, Shayne, Nicholette, Maisha, Nechelle, Pebbles, Jennifer, Sarah, Maya ,Brittany, Crystal, Olivia, Dameris, Janaya, Desirae, Carissa, Michael, Lauren, Katie, Elicia, India, Rebecca. They have made this experience the best and I appreciate them, they made it easy for me because they accepted me for who I am…I loved sift 2007…

Hi, my name is Wiley Dawson The reason that I want to be a teacher is because of the shortage of minorities in the teaching business. My people of color are not stronge in that area and I want to make a change. I love teaching and  learning, i really like US history and world history.

Hello world!!! My name is Wiley and I would like to be a teacher because I want to help the up coming generations develop into successful and well educated people in my society and one near you. I want to be a teacher because it the most important job in the world. I feel that the simple fact is who is going to pass knowledge on to the next generation of teacher, doctors, political officals, and etc.  Therefore this why I came to the SIFT program.
